The road viaduct at PK 186 has a continuous structure over five spans, with a total length of 146 m (28.75 + 3 x 29.50 + 28.75 = 146.00). The foundations are based on 1200-diameter piles, with lengths ranging from 18 to 32 m; the deck is a mixed steel-concrete structure, assembled on site.
In order to ensure the quality of the design and subsequently the implementation, the model of the steel structure deck (beams, transverse) was developed through BIM methodology (using Tekla Structures) with final processing of 342 detailed drawings. Such a clear definition of the geometry of the deck, made it possible to solve problems of constructability of the work before the effective construction phase.
The graphic model was also the starting point for the entire metric-estimation phase of the work and for the return of the graphic design drawings.
